Elastos, Where We Stand Today

A Clear Distinction

Elastos is entering a new chapter.

Today, the active product work around the World Computer vision is being carried forward by Elacity Labs through public, Elastos DAO-funded mandates. Elacity Labs is separate from the Elastos Foundation — which now refers to itself as the NBW Foundation

Our role is to build, ship, and report openly through the Elastos DAO process. Every proposal is public, every vote is on-chain, and our work is accountable to the community.

The Foundation and the Past

Recent discussion in the community has focused on legacy issues connected to the Elastos Foundation, including BTCD (“Bitcoin Dollar”) and the broader New Bretton Woods initiative. Those concerns are serious and deserve to be addressed properly, with clarity and transparency.

BTCD was a project of the Elastos Foundation / NBW Foundation, with public materials from September 2025 identifying Shenzhou Crypto DMCC, a Dubai-licensed entity, as the BTCD product entity. Elastos DAO did not issue, fund, operate, guarantee, or approve BTCD. No on-chain DAO proposal authorized its creation, issuance, or operation. No DAO treasury funds were allocated to it, except its audit which was requested by an NBW member through on chain voting proposal. The DAO’s full proposal and voting record remains publicly verifiable on-chain.

Based on the Foundation’s own public direction toward dissolution, we believe legacy Foundation matters should now be resolved in a way that supports the DAO, respects the community, and helps close this chapter responsibly.

This matters not only for accountability, but also for trust. Elastos cannot move forward cleanly if unresolved issues from the past continue to cast a shadow over the work being done today.

Guidance for BTCD Holders

Elastos DAO does not provide support, redemption, custody, or customer service for BTCD. The DAO has no operational role in BTCD and is not a contact point for holder inquiries, technical issues, claims, or disputes. Holders should direct all such matters to the NBW Foundation (formerly Elastos Foundation) or to Shenzhou Crypto DMCC, the entity named in the September 2025 public materials as the BTCD product entity. The DAO cannot answer for, intervene in, or guarantee any BTCD-related action taken by those entities.

Use of the Elastos Name and Marks

The Elastos name, logo, and associated marks may not be used by NBW Foundation, Elastos Foundation, Shenzhou Crypto DMCC, or any BTCD-related entity, partner, listing, or third party in a manner that implies current sponsorship, endorsement, issuance, operation, or affiliation by Elastos DAO. Any continued use of Elastos branding in connection with BTCD that suggests a current DAO relationship is unauthorized. The DAO reserves the right to request corrections, removal of logos, revised descriptions, and clear disclaimers from any party using the Elastos name in association with BTCD.

What We Are Seeing Now

At the same time, there is something real and encouraging in front of us.

Over the past few weeks, feedback around PC2 has reminded us why this work matters. Community members have already started testing it across different setups, from local virtual machines with GPU passthrough, to laptops, to Android devices. The response has been strong, and in many cases emotional, because people are starting to see the original vision of Elastos take shape in a usable form.

That feedback means a great deal to our team. It tells us that the question facing Elastos is no longer whether the vision can be built. It can. What matters now is protecting that progress, rebuilding confidence, and making sure the future of Elastos is not held back by unresolved issues from the past.

What Comes Next

Our focus remains simple.

We are putting our energy into ElastOS, PC2, and the broader World Computer path ahead. We want to keep building useful products, keep showing progress in public, and keep giving the community reasons to believe again.

We also hope the Foundation chooses a constructive path. A transparent resolution to legacy matters would help Elastos heal, reduce division, and give the wider community space to focus on what comes next.

Our Position

Elacity Labs is here to build.

We are here to serve the DAO mandate in public, to keep shipping, and to help move Elastos toward a healthier and more credible future.

The past must be handled properly.
The future must be built properly.
Both matter.

Note on the Foundation’s Revised Statement (May 21st 2026)

Since this statement was first published, the Elastos Foundation (now NBW Foundation) has revised its own public statement. Readers can compare:

Both links are provided so the community can see the Foundation’s position over time, in its own words, and judge for themselves. This Elacity Labs / Elastos DAO statement remains accurate as to the DAO’s role, the DAO’s non-involvement in BTCD, and the entity distinctions described above, regardless of any further revisions the Foundation may make to its own page.
