[Historical] Behind the Code: BTCD ECO Production Prep, Elacity dDRM (NBW Foundation–era, Aug 12, 2025)

Editor’s Note — added 20 May 2026

This page is retained as a historical record. The work described here was carried out by the NBW Foundation (formerly the Elastos Foundation) — not by Elastos DAO. Elastos DAO did not issue, fund, operate, guarantee, or approve BTCD or any of the activity reported on this page. For the current position of Elastos DAO and Elacity Labs, please read: Elastos, Where We Stand Today.

About this specific update:

This update reported BTCD production deployment prep on ECO chain, with a “1% Elastos Foundation options fund allocation” and a “30% Elastos Foundation fee share.” Those allocations and fee shares belong to the NBW Foundation. Elastos DAO has no rights to, claim on, or counterparty role in any of them.

The BeL2-NBW team has completed production deployment preperation for the BTCD stablecoin on ECO chain, fixed long-standing mainchain security flaws, and pushed forward critical UX upgrades. Meanwhile, Elacity Labs with WCI activated Lit-powered decryption in the player, delivering a truly decentralized DRM stack ready for ELA native media licensing and beyond.

BeL2-NBW Team

BTCD Protocol Ready for ECO Chain Launch

  • Finalized contracts, frontend apps, backend services, and full infrastructure configuration for production deployment[3]
  • Deployed BTC block header and asset oracle contracts
  • Completed coordination with Shanghai ZK team and resolved all proof-related deployment issues
  • Updated staging with:
  • Redeployed stablecoin contracts to support multiple minters, preparing for protocol expansion

Gold-Silver Minting (GSM) Framework Finalized

  • Developed full ELA staking integration with dynamic price feeds
  • Enabled collateral ratio increases (from 40% to 65%) via ELA staking
  • Improved staking UX using native ELA interface
  • Validated interest rate logic and repayment distribution

Mainchain Security Fixes Live

  • Released ELA v0.9.9.3 to resolve long-standing illegal proposal issues linked to BPoS nodes
  • Upgraded network-wide nodes (nmn030–037) with synchronized testnet verification
  • Stabilized node behavior under high-load and low-performance conditions

ECO Chain Consensus Optimization

  • Scaled from 12-node to 36-node DPoS testbed with fallback PoW mode
  • Verified transaction fee distribution and consensus switching
  • Reduced cloud costs by resizing testnet infra and cleaning up Vultr storage

Frontend & EE Wallet UX Overhaul

  • Added complete multi-language support, especially Simplified Chinese
  • Optimized mobile layouts and disabled unnecessary chain switching
  • Updated screenshots and operation guides with new UI walkthroughs
  • Improved BTC fee rate logic and EE Wallet transaction success rate

Automation & Infrastructure

  • Updated signer and proof submit services with new contract addresses
  • Enabled fallback support via nownodes API
  • Wrote full deployment + upgrade documentation for ECO chain API, browser, and Graph node infra

EE Wallet Expansion

  • Fixed token display issues across chains
  • Verified full cross-platform lending flows on mobile and desktop
  • Strengthened multi-chain consistency and transaction clarity

Security & Community Trust

Bitcoin Script Review

  • Consulted Professor Zhang for deep review of P2WSH-based arbitration logic
  • Validated security posture across BTC integration layer

Community Risk Management

  • Introduced Arbiter Whitelist System based on BPoS validator history
  • Prepared multilingual user guides, FAQs, and full support protocols
  • Balanced decentralization ideals with community confidence through transparency and layered controls

Elacity Labs WCI

Lit Protocol Decryption Now Live in Player on testnet

  • Elacity’s dDRM player now supports Content Encryption Key (CEK) retrieval via Lit Protocol in testnet
  • CEKs are:
    • Pushed by backend Moleculer microservices
    • Mapped via smart contract KIDs (not tokenIds)
    • Decrypted using SIWE-authenticated session signatures

Smart Account & Contract Finalization

  • Fully deployed and tested ERC-4337–compatible Operative + Channel contracts
  • Fixed _msgSender, allowTransferof, and signature validation issues
  • Verified license flow and minting behavior under abstracted user context

System Integration & Infrastructure

  • Migrated CEK logic into a standalone service
  • Resolved minting reverts from upgrade conflicts
  • Cleaned up vite configs and optimized frontend module dependencies
  • Reviewed final UI/UX elements across:
    • Explore, Channels, Library, Cinema, Subscriptions, Earnings, Homepage

What’s Next

BeL2-NBW

  • Officially launch BTCD protocol beta on ECO chain
  • Deploy full monitoring + alerting systems
  • Finalize customer service flow and knowledge base for multi-language support
  • Begin scoping new innovative features and liquidity integrations

Elacity Labs WCI

  • Harden CEK decryption flow with WASM security modules
  • Finish frontend polish and transition Lit integration into production
  • Prepare node and compute extensions for ElastOS deployment
  • Expand token-gated logic for on-chain royalties and media monetization

Why It Matters

This week, Elastos completed its transformation from potential to production:

  • BTCD protocol is near ready for beta launch, with ELA and FIST-backed collateral mechanisms
  • Elacity dDRM is near fully decentralized, from licensing to playback, with no centralized keys
  • Multi-language, multi-chain UX now spans wallet, browser, player, and smart account flows

Elastos is now operating on all layers of the SmartWeb: Consensus. Currency. Compute. Content.
