About this specific update:

This is a weekly report from the NBW Team covering BTCD 2.0 planning, EIP-3009 integration into the Stablecoin contract, the x402 payment facilitator beta launch, BPoS testing on PG Chain, and cross-chain issue follow-up. The NBW Team is part of the NBW Foundation. Elastos DAO did not commission, fund, supervise, or approve any of the work reported here.

This week, the NBW development team worked on BTCD 2.0 planning and estimation, EIP-3009 integration, the beta launch of the x402 payment facilitator, BPoS block production testing assistance on PG Chain, and cross-chain issue follow-up.[1] EIP-3009 was integrated into the Stablecoin contract, and the BTCD contract was upgraded to support it. The x402 payment facilitator beta was deployed with support for Base, Arbitrum, Solana, and the PG chain. The BTCD 2.0 BTC script modification proposal was discussed internally, but technical issues remain and need more refinement.

Key Work This Week

  • BTCD, EIP-3009: completed EIP-3009 integration and testing for the Stablecoin contract, upgraded the BTCD contract to support EIP-3009, basic verification completed.

  • x402 beta launch: deployed the x402 payment facilitator beta at x402.btcdcash.com, follows the x402 standard (x402.org), supports Base, Arbitrum, Solana, and the PG chain, targets a gas-free payment experience, groundwork for agent economy scenarios.

  • BTCD 2.0 proposal: discussed the BTC script modification proposal, completed initial development time estimation, proposal still has unresolved technical issues.

  • PG Chain BPoS: assisted with testing BPoS participation in PG block production.

  • PG Chain Cross-chain: investigated a community-reported cross-chain withdrawal issue and assisted with testing the upgrade fix.

  • Agent economy activities: explored recent AI developments, studied OpenClaw-related topics, visited Kunlun Nest, discussed plans for an “AI Economic Agent Reading Group” initiative.

BTCD Progress

EIP-3009 Integration and Contract Upgrade

EIP-3009 now runs in the Stablecoin contract, and integration testing is complete. Next, the BTCD contract upgrade added EIP-3009 support, with basic verification finished. In practical terms, EIP-3009 enables authorization signature based transfers in BTCD, which can make the user flow feel smoother.

BTCD 2.0 Proposal Evaluation

Meanwhile, the BTC script modification proposal for BTCD 2.0 went through internal review, and an initial development time estimate is ready. However, technical issues remain in the current proposal, so more iteration is needed before implementation starts.

Technical Challenges and Open Issues

The BTCD 2.0 script proposal still has unresolved technical issues, so another iteration is required. EIP-3009 has basic verification complete, and further testing remains on the roadmap.

x402 Payment Facilitator Beta

In parallel, a beta version of the x402 payment facilitator is live at x402.btcdcash.com. It follows the x402 standard (x402.org) and supports Base, Arbitrum, Solana, and the PG chain. The beta targets a gas-free payment experience and sets early groundwork for agent economy use cases.

PG Chain BPoS and Cross-Chain Follow-up

On the PG Chain side, BPoS participation testing continued during PG block production. Then, work continued on a community-reported cross-chain withdrawal issue, with additional testing on the upgrade fix.

OpenClaw Research and Deployment

OpenClaw research for Agent Economy is complete, it is deployed to a test server, and Telegram integration is enabled. From here, this becomes an early step toward future agent economy world.

Next Week’s Focus

Next week, the team will focus on tightening and validation by refining the BTCD 2.0 BTC script modification proposal and resolving remaining issues, further EIP-3009 testing and monitoring post-upgrade contract operation. In parallel, the team will continue BPoS block production testing, collect feedback on the x402 beta and follow up with stability and feature improvements.

Note: PG Chain is operated by NBW as a partner initiative. PG Chain is not a core Elastos product.
