Elastos DAO has confirmed that ECO Chain will be shut down on June 13, 2026, following the approval of the ECO Chain termination proposal.
ECO Chain was originally launched to support EVM-compatible activity within the Elastos ecosystem, including applications, bridging, and related on-chain activity. Since then, the ecosystem has moved forward, Proposal #203 introduced a successor chain for the relevant use cases, and ECO Chain activity has become very limited.
At this stage, ECO Chain no longer plays a meaningful role in the ecosystem. Keeping it online also creates ongoing infrastructure, maintenance, and cross-chain support costs for Elastos DAO and Council members.
To avoid an abrupt shutdown, ECO Chain services will remain online for a two-month notice period. This gives users time to withdraw, bridge, or otherwise move any remaining assets from ECO Chain before support ends.
After June 13, 2026, ECO Chain services will be shut down, including related node and cross-chain support. Any assets left on ECO Chain after that date may become unrecoverable.
Users who still hold assets on ECO Chain should move them as soon as possible.
