This week, the NBW team advanced several deep infrastructure pillars simultaneously: Taproot-based protocol evolution, full-spectrum PG Chain integrated BPoS block production testing, and 180-day staking support across contracts and applications. Multi-scenario consensus testing confirmed correct sidechain behavior through BPoS degradation, DAO-only fallback, and mainchain POW/DPOS transitions.
In parallel, BTCD Protocol Taproot contract development moved from research into working implementation, and long-duration staking is now fully supported at the application layer. Together, these efforts materially strengthen BTCD’s security, flexibility, and long-term governance readiness. This work supports the ongoing evolution of the BTCD protocol as a Bitcoin-anchored financial system.
Key Work This Week
- BTCD Taproot Technology Development: Completed Taproot script contracts, unlock branches, and order-related logic, forming a concrete implementation base for BTCD protocol evolution.
- Comprehensive PG Chain BPoS Block Production Testing: Finished Oracle–contract integration testing and validated BPoS CRUD operations. Completed multi-scenario consensus testing including BPoS insufficiency, DAO node+BPoS switching, and mainchain POW/DPOS transitions.
- 180-Day Staking Period Support: Fixed staging SPV proof submission issues and completed full BTCD dApp support and verification for 180-day staking orders.
- BTCD Order Issue Resolution: Identified outdated BTC header contracts as the root cause of order closure failures and processed the majority of affected orders.
- PG Chain Blacklist Feature Testing: Completed PG sidechain blacklist testing, confirming BPoS deregistration behavior and registration restrictions for blacklisted nodes.
- Product Quality Optimization: Verified BTCD Dashboard ECO chain fixes and advanced EE Wallet intent-level optimizations.
NBW 2.0 — Strategic Progress This Week
BTCD Taproot Technical Solution Development
- Completed Taproot script contract development
- Completed Taproot unlock branch logic
- Advanced Taproot order-related functionality
These components represent a concrete step toward greater protocol flexibility and future-proof scripting within BTCD.
GSM (Gold–Silver Minting) Handover
- All GSM-related code and repositories were formally handed over to the PG community
- PG community now assumes responsibility for operations, maintenance, and further development
PG Chain BPoS Block Production Mechanism Testing
Oracle Service Verification
- Verified Oracle–contract interactions and BPoS CRUD operations
- Tested behavior under insufficient voting power and stake expiration
- Validated BPoS status transitions (inactive, illegal)
- Updated Oracle and contract scripts to support new test paths
Consensus Degradation & Recovery Testing
- Tested PG sidechain fallback to DAO Node-only block production when BPoS nodes are insufficient
- Verified DAO Nodes → DAO Nodes+BPoS recovery after BPoS re-registration
- Tested sidechain behavior during mainchain POW mode
- Confirmed correct recovery after mainchain returns to DPOS
Cross-Chain Validation
- Validated mainchain deposits and sidechain withdrawals under DAO Nodes-only and DAO Nodes+BPoS consensus modes
PG Chain Blacklist Feature Testing
- Verified full blacklist lifecycle and query paths
- Confirmed that blacklisted BPoS nodes can deregister but cannot re-register
- Tested consensus logic and random selection across varying BPoS registration counts
BTCD 180-Day Staking Support
- Resolved SPV proof service outage blocking staging submissions
- Completed BTCD application support for 180-day orders
- Verified dApp-side modifications through testing
BTCD Order Issue Resolution
- Identified outdated BTC header contracts as root cause
- Processed and resolved most impacted orders
- Continuing follow-up on remaining edge cases
Product Optimization
- Regression-tested BTCD Dashboard ECO chain fixes
- Optimized EE Wallet intent handling and verified changes locally
- Completed testnet mainchain term transition, DAO Node registration, and voting processing
Next Week’s Focus
- Continue refining Taproot functionality and validation
- Complete remaining BPoS block production testing and improve Oracle stability
- Finalize 180-day staking edge-case resolution
- Advance BTCD Dashboard and EE Wallet fixes
Conclusion
This week marked a transition from exploration to validation across several critical layers of the NBW stack. Taproot development moved into working implementation, BPoS consensus was stress-tested across real degradation and recovery scenarios, and long-duration staking is now fully supported end-to-end. Alongside continued product hardening and the GSM handover to the PG community, these efforts significantly strengthen BTCD’s technical foundations. The team will continue executing against the roadmap with a focus on stability, flexibility, and decentralized governance readiness.
